Wynyard Crossing closed during alert level 4

IMG_0798.jpg

The Wynyard Crossing Bridge will remain in an upright position until the alert level is lowered to 3 or below and will continue to be monitored by CCTV security.

To comply with Ministry of Health guidelines, under alert level 4 all non-essential services must close. The bridge is not considered an essential service because there is an alternative route for people to walk and cycle around the Viaduct Harbour. The bridge is manually operated on site by Eke Panuku staff who must remain at home until non-essential work is permitted.

Due to the resource consent conditions of the Wynyard Crossing Bridge, if it is unable to operate it must be left in the upright position.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
