Award-winning Waterfront wahine

On Friday, 1 November, our waterfront wahine accepted the Best Team Award at the Auckland People Property Awards on behalf of a wider 60+ strong team who have contributed to making the Waterfront a place Aucklanders love. Collectively, the achievements of these wonderful wahine are testament to effective collaboration as trusted custodians of Auckland’s Waterfront, driving transformational change for one of New Zealand’s biggest regeneration projects spanning 30 years.

Panuku Chair, Adrienne Young-Cooper says: “Evidently, the Transform Waterfront team have done an outstanding job as guardians of the Waterfront vision. Their impressive achievements deliver to the Waterfront Goals to support the creation of an enduring, sustainable, beautiful place with an outstanding and ever-changing harbour edge providing public places for happiness and fun for all Aucklanders.

The vision of creating an innovation business hub with attitude and high design values is well progressed in the precinct, and a resident population living in “density done well” apartment developments continues to grow.

"The Transform Waterfront Team are also leading by example for women who remain under-represented in the property industry. The true value of their contribution will continue to be realised beyond 2021 as Auckland – and New Zealand – responds to the social and economic opportunities created.”

You can hear from the wahine below talk about their career and life in our podcasts here.
